Spectrum produces 3D for Tropika: “Because blue is so coool”

 Wanting to further their client’s association with the big-screen hit “The Smurfs”, The Creative  Counsel contacted digital media experts, Spectrum, to conceptualise and produce a 3D  animated cinema advertisement for Tropika and their Cool Blue “tutti frutti” flavoured drink to  coincide with the nationwide launch of the movie on Friday, 30^th September 2011.

 As Tropika did not previously have their own 3D audio-visual advertisement, Spectrum’s in-  house production team pitched the concept to the client, created the storyboard and produced the 15 second animated advertisement within the record time of only one week. Directed by Chief Creative Officer, Dinesh Diar, and animated by Victor Jacobs, the advertisement oozes the Tropika mantra of "da smoothest taste under da sun" (www.tropika-island.co.za), and takes the viewer on a trip over the ocean waves along with bobbing bottles of Tropika Cool Blue as they are carried towards the Tropika Island - complete with the blazing orange sun, waving palm trees and seagull calls in the background - where the slogan “Because blue is so coool” appears in bold animated letters.

The advertisement will be showing across all 3D cinemas nationwide (Nu Metro and Ster-Kinekor) and will reinforce brand association together with the Tropika cinema foyer promotions executed by The Creative Counsel.
